Summary We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to oversee procurement activities for direct materials for our two avocado processing plants in Morelia and Irapuato, Mexico. This role requires frequent travel between the two locations to ensure seamless operations and effective collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities Oversee the procurement of direct materials, ensuring timely deliveries that meet quality standards. Manage the procurement process, including sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier management, converting requisitions to purchase orders, ensuring pricing accuracy, and monitoring Purchase Price Variance (PPV). Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a consistent supply. Regularly assess supplier performance to ensure compliance with company standards. Develop sourcing strategy for moderately sized spend categories with mid to high-level complexity. Initiate and implement cost-saving opportunities, manage procurement projects through collaboration with cross-functional teams, and negotiate contracts to secure savings. Identify potential supply risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, to ensure business continuity. Typical Education Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university. Relevant Experience 5+ years related experience and/or training in a relevant field. MS Office, SAP/Ariba and JDE experience a plus. Experience in procurement or supply chain management within the food industry or a related field is a plus. Proficient communication skills and excellent supplier and stakeholder relationships management. Good presentation, negotiation, and market/data analysis skills. Other Information Domestic and/or International Travel up to 20% as needed. Frequent commutes between Morelia and Irapuato will also be required, as needed.
