Reuters is looking for a talented video producer to bring breaking news, major event coverage, and engaging feature stories from the Latam region to our global client base and consumer audiences.
Based in our dynamic, energetic newsroom in Mexico City you will work with colleagues across both Mexico and Central and South America.
You will have a passion for bringing accurate, unbiased news to the world at speed coupled with creative editing and human storytelling.
You will know how to make stories engaging for broadcast and digital audiences: from TV to TikTok.
Your role will involve working directly with our bureaus, managing incoming video content, editing video and writing accompanying stories, and sharing our plans with our global newsroom.About the Role In this opportunity as a Producer, you will:Ensure our video stories and accompanying written context are fast, accurate, and unbiased.Have a keen eye for visual storytelling and the ability to produce compelling video within tight deadlines.Pitch in-depth and stand out story ideas that work for both broadcast and digital platformsWork as part of a regional team covering events starting from the planning phase through to production work.Keep ours and the world's newsrooms updated with latest developments on breaking and developing stories.Work as a team with pictures, text, video and on-line colleagues to ensure integrated multimedia news coverage and productionAbout YouYou're a fit for the role if your background includes:Excellent Spanish and English, written and oral - fluency in Portuguese a plus.A passion for all forms of journalism and a keen interest in current affairs3 to 5 years of professional journalism experience – experience in broadcast, digital, or agency video an advantage.Excellent news judgment and a passion for breaking news.Good working knowledge of video editing and script writingUnflappable interpersonal and organizational skills even when under pressure.A desire to work with colleagues dedicated to the Trust Principles of independence, integrity and freedom from bias.To apply, please upload your updated resume in English.
