Job Description SummaryThe Technical Leader for Services & Productivity Product Definition Engineering will proactively lead the team on Services, PCO/P2V and Fix It projects execution and provide coordination of the team's effort for various internal and externally focused initiatives involving Gas Turbine component design. Innovation/ passion in developing/ driving processes involving increasing the level of PDE quality/ standardization/productivity is a core competency for this role. A key element of this role is building and sustaining partnerships with the adjacent design engineering teams, MFG, and the supply chain to deliver into the fast-pacing Services VBO.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities Demonstrate and further develop leadership and coaching skills / characteristics involving team building, interpersonal skills, and effective communication in fulfilling business level deliverables, weighing priorities, setting direction / tasks for the team.Drive strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency within the team in meeting critical business metrics.Coordinate efforts with Managers and the current Technical Leader(s), LIO's, leaders of Turbine, Compressor and Combustion Modules in PDE, and the overall (domestic and global) PDE/DE Gas Turbine team.Comprehend and proactively influence new processes & business initiatives.Facilitate team communication to leadership on program / initiative milestones.Routinely provide insights to team members via workday and day to day direction.Connect regularly with other product definition teams (Steam/Gen, Accessories, Other businesses with the PDE function), to benchmark practices and leverage / standardize into the compressor rotating and interfacing systems as appropriate.Represent Services, PCO/P2V and Fix It with Design Engineering, Program, Systems, Sourcing, Manufacturing teams and with other CM / PDE teams as required.Enable digital transformation of supply chain with focus on design engineering and manufacturing processes and capabilities.Become involved in Services, Fix It and P2V/PCO program deliverables, and work towards identifying future needs for technical growth of PDE resources / tools required to support.Drive proper application of GD&T, quality standards, model reviews, peer checking, for PDE deliverables.Coordinate / support testing and integration of new digital tools and processes.Independently drive complex projects to completion.Juggle a variety of assignments to develop your own career path and professional growth.Continue to master technical depth in various areas of expertise.Embrace LEAN by adopting LEAN tools and principles for day-to-day operation & problem solving.Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree or Technology Degree in Engineering Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Computer Graphics Technology, or other STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).Minimum 6 years of related experience: engineering design, product definition, manufacturing, gas turbine technology, products, business, and strategy.NX (UG) with application of PMI to 3D model features and product Lifecycle Management Process knowledge and tool experience.Desired Characteristics Experience working in partnership/within services VBO.Understanding of P2V/PCO projects.Product design / definition experience: Gas Turbine – Turbine, Combustion, Compressor module component design and release process or similar.Established project management skills.Demonstrated Horizontal partnering relationship building skills across the team and with design engineering and manufacturing.Ability to formulate business strategies…awareness, connectivity and influencing skills to allow implementation of these and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.Demonstrated record of accomplishment in delivering results and leading others in a dynamic business environment.Experience with Dassault ENOVIA or other PLM system.Familiarity with gas turbine mfg./supply chain planning.Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.Process oriented mindset capable of analyzing, designing, and optimizing workflow to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Change Management process knowledge/advocacy – Solid understanding of change management principles and methodologies and exhibit the ability to inspire and guide teams through transitions.Use of technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
