These roles are onsite with our client in Matamoras Mexico and will require the engineer to come to the US roughly for 2-3 weeks per year without restrictions. The engineer must be bi-lingual and be strong with speaking/writing in English.Responsibilities:The engineer in this position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and provide core technical support, ensure the cost, timing and performance objectives are met for support of current production core products. This role will support design changes to existing product, as well as design work for new product development as needed. This position will lead and manage timing for design projects, and may also develop and carry out CIP and VAVE cost save projects for core products.The job will be located in Matamoros, Mexico, and requires in-office work, with some flexibility to work from home, including some early/late conference calls with other sites.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead engineering activities to support core products for cost savings projects. Mechanical design using Solid Edge software, as well as performing tolerance stack-up analyses, mathematical modeling of product function and performance, etc. Ensure product design and performance compliance with client, regulatory, and customer specifications. Ensure adequate project and technical communications (e.G. meetings, oral reports, technical reports) with personnel, management, suppliers and customers. Determine lessons learned and aid with feedback to design and product development groups. RequirementMust be fluent in both English and SpanishKnowledge and understanding of automotive industry procedures/systems, e.G., IATF-16949, APQP, FMEA, change control processes, etc. Understanding of cause and effect relationships to provide the skill to identify and solve problems using tools such as FTA, 8D, 5-why analysis, fishbone analysis, DOE etc. Experience with DFMEA and/or DRBFM Self-motivated and results orientated, proactive with outstanding planning and follow up skills. Capable of prioritizing multiple projects/tasks, including projects involving global teams Able to communicate and write effectively resulting in a clear understanding of the issues, both English and Spanish. Ability to effective communicate internally as well as with customers and suppliers. Ability to use Microsoft office required. Experience with Solid Edge or similar CAD program requiredTechnical Bachelor's Degree required. Must be able to travel to USA for 2-3 weeks at a time for training, possibly several times per year. PreferredMinimum of 3 years of Automotive experience highly preferred. Experience working with External customers preferred. Automotive Quality Standards experience preferred. Familiarity with high volume production products and production lines preferred
