Bring your passion to a fast paced and professional work atmosphere.We have a new opening in Mexicali, Baja California for a Design Engineer in our Commercial Vehicle Business unit.This position requires a basic understanding of turbochargers & vehicle systems combined with creativity and drive to develop new products based on customer needs. Responsibility spans from concept development of complex projects, support through test/validation and launch. Design Engineer brings critical design & development competencies to our Lead Engineer's team, developing cutting edge turbocharger boosting technologies.Responsibilities of the Position:- Interface closely with Customers to understand detailed Turbocharger design requirements.- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure robust designs.- Use internal standards & industry experience to develop complex systems, that meets customer specific requirements & packaging space.- Support lead engineer working on customer programs.- Participate in design reviews or Internal / External customer presentations.- Follow product life cycle management process from CAD Data creation to release in PLM system.- Work in fast pace environment with competing requirements and challenging deadlines. Designer will be responsible for managing project milestones, scope changes & supplier issues affecting designs, working with program manager & Lead Engineer.Basic Qualifications:- B.S Mechanical Engineering- 2 or more years work experience designing mechanical and aerodynamic devices/components/systems.- Strong CAD skills. Minimum 2 years' experience with CATIA V5, Onshape or equivalent CAD software. (Solid modeling, surfacing and drafting).- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5-1994 or 2018 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing standard and 2D/3D Tolerance Stack up analysis.- Experience with Enovia PLM / SmarTeam / Team Center PDM Systems. Experience in manufacturing Metal Castings, Machining, Sheet metal forming, Plastic injection molded parts & part assembly processes.Additional Qualifications:- Basic understanding of internal combustion engines and turbochargers.- Knowledge and Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Kinematics and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics).- Basic knowledge of mechatronics machines.- Experience with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA & problem solving techniques.- Design for Six Sigma or Lean certified
