**What you will do?
**
Create new product designs and improve existing product designs for commercial air distribution products using sound engineering principles.
The near-term emphasis will be on supporting the full implementation of the company's MRP business system and associated engineering documentation.
**How you will do it?
**:
- Use AS400 (Manufacturing Resource Planning software) to enter and configure part and assembly data
- Validate and update product designs and BoM's.
- Create drawings and BOM's for missing or outdated product documentation.
- Create/update parts, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks modeling software as part of new product introduction projects, value analysis, and engineering change requests.
- Use SolidWorks PDM software to manage engineering CAD data.
- Respond to ECR's by releasing drawing and modeling packages on schedule.
- Evaluate products for cost savings opportunities (value analysis/value engineering).
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering Systems teams to ensure design specifications are maintained, eliminate waste, and recommend design adjustments and improvements.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing and sales/marketing.
- Initiate prototype and design validation builds, facilitate testing, and evaluate results for new product development, product enhancements and VA/VE projects.
- Manage minor projects and standard engineering changes (EC's).
- Facilitate work with IEC (India Engineering Center) for engineering activities including work requests, providing support and conducting quality audits.
- Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions, to stay apprised of new developments in technology, tools, and resources.
- Generate technical reports, graphs, and marketing illustrations to define/illustrate system performance and operating characteristics.
- Follow and comply with company work and safety rules.
**What are we looking for?
**:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S.)
in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering from an accredited four-year College or University, and hands on SolidWorks experience is required.
- Three to five years of hands on practical work experience in HVAC is preferred.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD, VBA, Stage-Gate/Phase-Gate development processes, project management, DFMA, DFMEA, LabView, ANSYS CFD/FEA, sheet metal forming and fabrication, air movement principles, and fan/blower laws are a plus.
