**Description**
Product Engineer is responsible for the management of the lifecycle of one or more families of products to ensure the performance and profitability goals are met.
As a Product Engineer within the Division of Caterpillar, you will have big impact on NPI program and PPAP release on time, your engineering, manufacturing, and project management skills will provide you the opportunity to support NPI Program through work with cross functional teams. This position is mainly responsible for all relevant activities from manufacturability letter, Pilot test to Production for all NPI products through APQP process, include BOM building, route line input, new parts delivery coordinating, results analysis.
**Job Duties**
Generate and follow up of the Project plan to comply with APQP process from the product development to continuous production, assuring manufacturability through quality and cost efficiency.
Manage the APQP documentation in the product lifecycle.
Develop and improve the products collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and quality departments to implement new technologies to improve the processes, safety, quality, or cost.
Communication of plans and improvement with internal and external costumers.
Elaboration and follow up of projects focused on the cost reduction during the manufacturing process of the products to reduce cycle times.
Good understanding of steel metallurgical processes to analyze in detail the results obtained during the manufacturing of castings.
Work together with Design engineer and Manufacturing engineer, to input route line for every new part.
Lead quality improvement initiatives to assure that customer requirements are met.
Participate in improvement projects where assigned products are generating issues in safety, ergonomics, quality, or cost.
Use of SAP to submit the part numbers in the system, BOM, Routes.
Process AMEF management of one family part numbers.
**Background/Experience**
Bachelor's degree in engineering and 3+ years of experience in foundry process.
Fluent in English; listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Strong team orientation and communication skills, excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
Knowledge in Core tools and the APQP, PPAPs requirements.
Project management skills for improvements and problem solution with the development of castings.
Knowledge in 2D and GD&T.
Good understanding of in quality management, testing and logistics.
Use of SAP system.
Self-stater, manages time efficiently, able to complete work without active supervision.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
