The Product Manager role is a global position which improves the value of a product portfolio through the management of existing products as well as development of new products. This position reports to the Director of Product Management and resides within the Laboratory Plastics Essentials business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific and is specifically responsible for products within the filtration and labware plastic consumable portfolios.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Product Life Cycle Management**
- Develop the positioning strategy for products considering price, volume, share, and profitability. Responsible for defining regional strategies and sales tactics to increase revenue. Proactively develop and implement strategies to strengthen the product line.
- Lead cross-functional new product development teams
- Evaluate products for end of life obsolescence.
- Play an active role in the planning process to develop and define the short, medium, and long-term visions for the portfolio.
**Commercial and Customer Relationships**:
- Foster relationships with key customers in conjunction with commercial teams. Work with the commercial, finance and operations teams to win large opportunities.
- Develop sales tools and support training programs.
- Conduct market and product research. Maintain relevant market data and competitive intelligence. Generate product analyses to identify differentiators that can be actioned upon.
**Product Line Performance**:
- Cross-functionally drive continuous improvements where needed to improve market share and portfolio performance including revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, quality, and delivery.
- Analyze and interpret data for monthly reporting cycle.
**Education and Experience Requirements**:
- Minimum of a BS or BA with MBA preferred
- Fluency in the English language
- 5+ years related experience with previous product management, commercial management and/or closely related technical roles preferred.
- Ability to conduct financial analyses, develop financial models, and interpret P&L statements
- Strong technical capabilities consistent with related products and/or market segment.
- Experience working with customers, commercial teams and/or varied sales channels.
- Can occasionally require up to 25% travel, including international.
- Able to work globally in a multinational/multicultural environment
- Preferred background in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related.
