**What you will do**:
- Under direct supervision by Plant Manager, the person in this position administers production requirements to satisfy customer's demand and objectives set for by Johnson Controls. _
**How you will do it**:
- Direct production leader supervisors and supervisors in the plant and coordinate production work through familiarity with all manufacturing processes. Maintain a continual awareness of safety, quality, efficiency, scrap, and production schedules.
- Motivate and direct the training of production supervisors. Train and develop individuals, instill in them a sense of responsibility, and evaluate them on their progress.
- Analyze and determine staffing requirements. Study daily operating results meet daily with subordinates and consult with supervisors on solutions to production problems. Ensure that problems have been corrected. Maintain cooperation between departments.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed by all manufacturing personnel. Inform the employees of deficiencies and violations and take corrective action, if necessary, to ensure that procedures and practices are being followed. Provide Safety training in a continuous basis.
- Ensure that all the safety, quality, manufacturing, and human development systems operate in an efficient and timely manner.
- Works with leadership and CI/Mfg. Engineering to develop a roadmap for Continuous Improvement in the assigned area for processes and productivity.
- Support all cost improvement initiatives
- Drives the JCMS - Johnson Controls Manufacturing System - throughout the plant, implements and sustains this culture with continuous training and development of hourly production personnel in the manufacturing principles and governing behaviors.
- Define plant objectives trough "Policy Deployment" process and promote the improvement of the performance metrics using JCMS tools.
- Ensure applicable activities that help achieve EHS, Quality & JCMS goals and metrics.
- Supports and leads 5S activities throughout the manufacturing facility to continuously improve the 5S Score.
- Leads Kaizen Events and performs lean training for the production personnel in the assigned area.
- Supports the High-Performance Teams of the assigned Area.
- Drives formal problem-solving methods in the production floor with production personnel to drive a culture of continuous improvement and quality, and controls scrap and rework, and provides quality product to the customer.
- Understands financial reporting and drives improvements based on KPI goals.
- Authorize and evaluate the overtime requirement for Production employees.
- Assist in mediation of personnel problems and conduct disciplinary action when required.
- Monitor customer production requirements and coordinate schedule adjustments when required.
- Monitor and ensure documentation of employee attendance records.
**What we look for**:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent with three plus years of leadership experience/manufacturing experience.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
- This manager needs to have a strong customer service attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. High proficiency with the English language is also required.
