The Production Manager - Assembly is responsible for working cross-functionally to develop the process strategy for assembly within the production facility by utilizing the appropriate resources to achieve company goals and world-class manufacturing operations.Role & ResponsibilityLabor RelationsInterpret the collective labor agreement and attempt to resolve employee issues and/or grievances.Help supervisors understand the collective labor agreement (posting overtime, overtime canvassing, etc.
).Key Performance Indicator(s): Resolution of grievance issues.Department Administration/Staff ManagementArrange supervisor support for assigned area during all times of operation.Lead functional business unit process improvements related to reduction of scrap, overtime, rework, downtime, quality, efficiencies, delivery, etc.Set standards of good housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.Conduct root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are implemented.Ensure all pre-determined KPI's are met: Number of kaizens within area, information flow & governance, audit score, 5S score, safety, cross-training.Report timely daily build numbers, downtime, scrap, etc.
