Position SummaryAchieving annual objectives for safety, quality, delivery and cost of the assigned value stream or defined area. Lean manufacturing transformation through education of self and direct reports, kaizen concepts and activities, visual management tools, and root cause problem solving and establishing goals and objectives and strategies to achieve them. Creating a positive work environment by engaging employees in the continuous improvement of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
DutiesManages administrative and operative employees including Supervisors, team leaders, engineers, maintenance, quality, procurement and planning.Provide direction and collaborate with management and support staff outside of the value stream to conduct operations in a safe and productive capacity to meet the needs of our customers and business objectives.Manages talent development, providing growth, training, and development opportunities to employees.Maintains results through coaching, and counseling of staff and setting meaningful and measurable goals.Management of the department through performance management, recruitment, salary adjustments, work schedules, and employee relations.Coordinate with production planning to meet the production plans to meet customer requirements.Decision making associated with safety, quality, process procedures, equipment maintenance and labor utilization.Duties - cont'dSafe working environment by example and promoting safe work performance, ensuring communications and recognition, as well as identifying and anticipating safety needs relative to equipment and or conditions. Establishing and enforcing procedures, rules and regulations in accordance with world class safety initiatives and culture.Ensure compliance to regulations (ISO, FDA, Homeland Security, OSHA, EPA).Supports new product introduction and projects with manufacturing input.Lead, train and follow up improvements in operation.Participation on safety, quality and lean manufacturing initiatives.Manages productivity levels, manpower, scrap, rework, costs, delivery and projects for the department.Education DegreeBachelor's Degree in Engineering GeneralRequired Experience7-10 years working in a manufacturing environment.5-7 years supervisory experience.Preferred ExperienceMaster's degree is a plus.5 years Lean Operations experience strongly preferred.5 years working in regulated environment within the drug and or medical device industry preferred.Direct profit and loss accountability experience preferred.SkillsInfluence and collaborate with others.Interpersonal and influence management skills.Self-directed and take charge.Solid analytical and organizational skills.Positive leadership abilities, proactively voicing ideas, opinions and suggestions in a constructive way.Financial understanding and administration.Strong sense of urgency.Excellent organization, time management and project management skills.Relevant experience using Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.Accountability and ownership of results.Lean manufacturing knowledge.Working ConditionsManufacturing operations.
