Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Maintains good communication with other supervisors and managers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for ensuring all company policies are carried out.Lead and assist in accident investigations and complete accident reports within 24 hrs. of the occurrence.Plan, assign, and direct all production activity and associates.Utilize effective communication with all associates including targeted production standards and performance rates.Lead and facilitate corrective action and continuous improvement teams.Conduct annual performance reviews for production associates.Coach production associates and complete Conduct and Corrective Action reports when necessary.Conduct shift meetings to discuss objectives and relay important information to production associates.Approve and manage days off requests from production associates.Prioritize production requirements assessing labor requirement vs. actual headcount.Approve employee timecards and ensure accurate completion of all attendance paperwork.Ensure production associates are adequately trained on their jobs and provide training when needed.Meet daily, or as needed, with other supervisors and management staff to review all production activities.QUALIFICATIONS Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA/Environmental laws and regulations for Indiana.Proven ability to determine root causes of accidents and implement corrective actions.Broad knowledge of health, safety, and environmental principles, practices, and procedures.Proven ability to communicate and present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.Proficient in the use of personal computers, internet, and Microsoft Office suite of software.Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through skills.Proven ability to work as a member or a team and as a team leader.Must possess a high degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Technical certificate, associate degree, journeyman with two years supervisory/leadership experience, process technician with two years supervisory/leadership experience, or four years supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Lean manufacturing experience required. Bachelor's/Associates degree in Business Management, Operations, or Industrial Leadership is a plus.
