Overview PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the hiring, training, and performance management of a group of production and support workers in a major department of a plant or the entire plant on a given shift, depending upon the size of the operation. Schedules and oversees production, usually through a group of lead operators. Implements process improvements and is responsible for the safety and productivity of the workforce and the quality of the product. Typically requires a degree and 5+ years of experience.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for the training and performance management of production personnel. This person will provide leadership on the production floor resulting in superior safety, quality, on-time delivery, high productivity, and implementation of cost reductions. Daily activities include the following:
Supervise manufacturing activities in a high-volume molding facility. Train and supervise operators and lower-level production leaders. Implement process improvements, drive productivity, reduce scrap and minimize down time. Ensure safety regulations, regulatory controls, policies, and procedures are followed. Manage attendance, payroll, and disciplinary, recognition and promotions process. Perform production reporting and work order close out. Ensure accurate communication among all departments and production personnel. Availability to work different shifts. Ensures that the production schedule is met. Qualifications REQUIRED Qualifications: BS or BA degree in engineering or technical discipline. Molding process experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Enthusiastic self-starter and team player. High attention to detail with a can do attitude and strong initiative level. Bi-lingual English and Spanish. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma Certification are a plus. Manufacturing management experience.
