JOB TITLE: PROGRAM BUYER POSITION: On a scope of production or NPI programs, manages the process of securing and obtaining components and systems, with best in class Quality/ Cost/ Delivery conditions, in accordance with the Program financial and operational performance objectives, and in compliance with divisional purchasing road map and targets. Functional direct reporting into Divisional Purchasing, Local reporting into Program Manager or Site. ACTIVITIES:Defines the sourcing strategy and implements subsequent road map to support Program and divisional objectives with a view to minimize risk, optimize cost, and gain competitive advantage.Negotiates business awards and supplier agreements on the Program scope, in accordance with divisional purchasing targets and Customer requirements flow downs.Achieves and secures a competitive advantage from a total cost perspective including technology, quality, on time delivery, price, lead times, minimum order quantity, inventory and payment terms.Prepares the Program supply base for production ramp-up through risk surveillance and mitigation [capacity, quality, delivery, financial strength] in coordination with the SPM/ SD group.Obtains supplier accountability for quality and delivery performance, support supplier performance recovery plans in coordination with the SPM/ SD group.Actively supports new business quoting efforts and configuration changes of future production BOM, in coordination with the Program ahead of production time to alleviate shortage risks.Tracks and forecasts the key cost drivers and market factors on the Program Bills of Materials.Drives continuous improvement to facilitate business flows, foster performance, reduce transactional and material cost, and promote healthy relationships with suppliers. REQUIREMENT:Must demonstrate excellent negotiation skills, coupled with the ability to drive successful supplier relationships.5+ years of Purchasing experience in a fast paced-high quality manufacturing environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
