.Job Description:The Project Accountant (Hybrid - Guadalajara, MX) will be responsible for managing all activities related to project revenue within Finance, including accounting, project reconciliation, invoicing, AR control (aging), cash collection, and coordination with operations and sales teams. This role ensures the accuracy of project balances, maintains a strong understanding of the customer's business, and is knowledgeable about construction contracts. The Project Accountant will work closely with Project Managers and Sales Analysts to promptly address project status updates, aged receivables, change orders, and other key financial elements.We are looking for someone who demonstrates:Passionate customer focusThoughtful, fast, disciplined executionTenacious commitment to continuous improvementHere is a glimpse of what you'll do:Conduct project reconciliations at the conclusion of each project, or as needed, including:Detailed GL reviews, analyzing all accounts impacted by project transactions (balance sheet and income statement).Ad hoc reviews of sales tax with the sales operations and corporate tax teams.Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition, including amounts and timing, in compliance with corporate policies and US GAAP.Review and manage revenue recognition, invoicing, and cash application.Manage multiple projects and escalate any past due or problematic balances to management.Work with both international and US-based projects.Review project contracts to identify key invoicing and revenue terms.Oversee the entire customer invoicing process, issuing all invoices (including deposit and retention) based on data provided by Project Managers or Sales Analysts.Ensure all change orders are accurately recorded.Collaborate with Project Managers on project follow-up, including tracking milestones, aged invoices, and unbilled amounts.Coordinate with Legal to ensure timely and appropriate issuance of lien waivers.Here is some of what you'll need (required):Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.Minimum of 5 years of finance or accounting experience.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.G., pivot tables, vlookups, extracting, and adjusting general ledger reports).Familiarity with financial statements and commonly used reports, such as aging reports, general ledgers, payment reports, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows.Strong communication skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.Mathematical aptitude: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical scenarios.Team-oriented mindset: Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and work well with others.Customer service skills: A focus on understanding and addressing the needs of internal and external stakeholders.Bilingual (oral and written) in English and Spanish.Hybrid work model: Based in Guadalajara, with the expectation to work on-site three days a week
