Project Design Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for NPDI engineering deliverablesManage a small team of Multi-functional EngineersProvide technical support to internal Vertiv functions - marketing, sales, application engineering, customer technical support and service, and manufacturing.Understand the products, suggesting ideas and improvements back to the group.Assist with creation, reviewing, and systems-entry of new product specifications, ECNs, tests, procedures, user manuals, submittal drawings, and sales literature.Create/modify mechanical drawings/parts in CAD systems, such as CREO.Assist with troubleshooting of escalated or recurring field issues.Perform lab testing of products.Work closely with technicians and junior engineers, providing technical support and guidance.QUALIFICATIONS 6 years of engineering product development or support experience.Sheet metal design experience.Basic working knowledge of mechanical concepts, products, safety, and test methods.Ability to follow, create, and organize testing and instructional procedures.Data-entry systems familiarity & BOM Creation Experience - Oracle, Agile, etc.Basic mechanical CAD tools experience.MBD (Model Based Definition) experience preferred.CREO preferred.Basic troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically.Good planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.Ability to multitask and operate in cross-functional Global Development Teams.Fluency in English.Basic electrical experience a plus.PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS No special physical requirements.
