Together, let's create the extraordinary!Job SummaryThe "Project Engineer" will be based in Tijuana, reporting to Process Engineer Manager.Plan and control the day-to-day activities within a project plan. Manage changes within a project and ensure that quality standards and safety standards are observed and adhered to during production. Manufacturing project engineers solve technical and commercial problems that arise during project.What a typical day looks like:- Lead the VIP (cost reduction) roadmap for the entire production unit.- Assesses the benefits of engineering technology and methods changes to operations.- Executes engineering and customer objectives against performance measures.- Participates on cross-functional project teams and acts as a resource in resolving technical obstacles.- Analyze engineering drawings and models to understand the basic manufacturing methodologies required for fabrication.- Formulate tooling concepts to support the manufacturing of sheet metal, machined and composite components.- Create tool orders in ERP system to support the manufacturing of detail and assembly tools for internal and external suppliers.- Create the routing and BOMs in ERP system to support the manufacturing of components / assemblies for internal and external suppliers.- Investigate manufacturing and producibility issues at internal and external sites, must be able to solve issues remotely.- Support the Design Engineers by suggesting ideas to make the detail components or assemblies more cost effective and producible.The experience we're looking to add to our team:- Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.- Lead Engineering Changes Implementation- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM), tolerance analysis, Design of Experiment (DOE), form-fit-function to determine failure root/cause analysis and reporting to customer- Provide support to supply chain to integrate parts derived from the vertical integration or localization effort- Provide product training to the manufacturing/process engineers for better understanding of the product
