- Assist in the development of commodity strategies, sourcing activities, and project implementation.
- Research materials and suppliers to develop an expertise related to the commodity supported.
- Prepare required documentation for supplier meetings or negotiations at sourcing board.
- Prepare high level presentations to upper management for sourcing events.
- Preparation of Request for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Request for Information's (RFIs). Preparation of complete set of documents required for a procurement cycle
- Collecting quotations, preparing comparative statements & getting approvals from procurement committee
- Interface between suppliers and engineering/materials/quality to answer any questions related to RFQ documents.
- Ensuring proper receipt of bids, proposals and document as per guidelines.
- Perform financial analysis of RFQ results to determine overall cost competitiveness.
- Make sourcing recommendations based upon RFI and RFQ results.
- Ensure quality for purchased parts. Define actions to achieve objectives (Quality Approval).
- Ensure quality from supplier's operations. (SOA)
- Creation of item PIR (Purchasing Info Record)
- New product development with engineering and quality departments
- Standard Pack definition for every part number to ensure quality and costing are not compromised.
- New products incorporation to production line (Phase in / out)
- Elaborate road map for every new project.
- Evaluate blocked invoices and resolve discrepancies related to price or quantity differences.
- Identify opportunities to improve invoice process between supplier and FM AP to reduce total number of blocked invoices.
- Report regularly to the Project Manager to keep him constantly informed of project progress, plans and problems that could affect costs, quality or schedule.
**What are we looking for?**
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technology discipline.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks with mínimal supervision.
- Experience working in supplier development and evaluation.
- Demonstrated background and proven experience with high level supplier negotiations and materials management.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing projects involving introduction of product or product changes into a manufacturing plant.
- Understanding of identifying critical paths and project risks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, both as a leader/facilitator and a participant.
- Excellent theoretical and applied knowledge of design and mechanical engineering concepts as well as cost reduction methodology.
- SAP Knowledge.
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAE engineering tools at design and simulation usages.
- Working knowledge at multiples software technologies.
- Working knowledge of quality processes and root cause analysis methodology.
- Ability to travel to various plants, vendors, and customer locations when necessary, including international locations.
- High interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team, motivation and assertiveness.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
