This is a key role in supporting our PMO and project management discipline.
This position is full-time, permanent, and is salaried with standard work hours, and no travel.
We are looking for someone who can start immediately.
- The Project Management Specialist position reports to the Global PMO Manager.
In collaboration with business partners and partner teams across IT, you will be responsible for managing any assigned projects through their entire project lifecycle, along with assisting the PMO Manager with auditing projects, compiling metrics and reporting.
**What You'll Do**

- Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of projects following the Gates IT PMO Methodology.
- Implements project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
- Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts daily, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
- Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers.
- Coordinates communication with business and IT resources with a focus on scope, budget, risk, and resources for the work effort being managed.
- Must possess knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.
- Assists in auditing and running reports for IT project management using IT PMO methodology and tools.
- Compiles metrics relating to IT project success, project attributes, and individual productivity and adherence to defined processes.
- Provides administrative support to project managers and project leaders.
- Organizes project-related documentation in various sources.
- Knowledge of project management tools, methods, and best practices such as those defined by the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Project Management experience leading and managing projects.
- Experience with Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Suite (at least 4 years hands on experience)
- Experience with PMO processes and documentation to include requirements, design, risk and issues, project plans, cutover plans, lessons learned.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical language with all levels of staff and management.
- Demonstrates an ability to work in a collaborative environment and influence others.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- 4-year university degree (equivalent work experience can be substituted for educational requirements)
- 4+ years directly related experience with IT Project Management
- Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred; PMP.
- Experience: project support/management and/or IT work experience.
Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions.
- Works under general direction of senior level management.
- Responsible for the management of one or more projects.
Works independently or on a team.
- Performs tasks of moderate to high complexity that require increased knowledge of multiple technical environments and knowledge of business areas that IT supports.
