**JOB PURPOSE**:
To define, plan, coordinate, and control the supply chain and releasing execution of new product development and product update programs.
**JOB DUTIES**:
- LONG RANGE PRODUCT PLANNING: Interface between Product Groups, engineering, releasing, supply chain, purchasing and suppliers to ensure a strategic, sound and concise manufacturing and purchasing vision is developed and communicated. Establish, maintain and communicate specific procurement requirements.
- TEAM MEETINGS: Attend, assist team and communicate meeting information to Supply Chain team, sales staff, releasing team, engineering and others. Lead meetings focused on current projects and process improvement. Emphasis is placed on proactive actions rather than reactive.
- OPERATIONS INTERFACE: Understand and incorporate the needs of everyone (inside & outside the company). Clearly involve and inform respective departments, divisions and suppliers.
- NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MEETINGS: Support and guide new development projects through releasing and Supply chain from the start of the project. Involve everyone to ensure team decisions are made and implemented. Employ common processes. Share and communicate information regarding OEMSG and other facilities.
- NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PLANNING: Provide technical expertise and guidance for major manufacturing programs. Prepare and provide the NPI team with the procurement plan for the bill of material to qualify the project for prototype builds and production. Ensure suppliers are committed to meet OEMSG's long range expectations for delivery of core components. Identify and coordinate the releasing and supply chain efforts needed to proceed with the procurement of components for new products. Tracks material being received and provides alternate souring for material that cannot be provided by the preferred supplier within customer time constraints. Tracks all BOM changes during first builds and ensures the working BOM is correct and also the final released BOM.
- PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Develop and communicate the project management principles and techniques to define, plan and control the execution of new product introduction and updates. Manage special projects to establish or improve processes related to quality, velocity and cost.
The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others.
**BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE**:
- The position requires an engineering or manufacturing background plus familiarity with company manufacturing facilities, processes, equipment, and processes.
- Knowledge of shop operations and maintenance procedures is recommended.
- The position requires university degree.
- In addition, three to five years of job-related experience are typically required.
- The ability to listen to others is important to the job.
