Quality Plant Engineering Leader Job Description
The Quality Plant Engineering Leader is a direct report to the ENG/FQM and has a dotted line with the Quality Plant Engineering Manager. He leads the quality plant engineering team in charge of his perimeter.
To guarantee customer satisfaction, including warranty results in the field and plant efficiency, he leads supplier quality, plant quality convergence, and manages product/process evolutions in serial life.

Daily Operational Production meetings with Quality Plant Engineering Manager and his team to address quality issues and production.Weekly meetings with FQM manager.Weekly meetings with Supplier Quality Development, ENG/CCLP Cross Car Line & Project, MFG/VPE/GAPE to coordinate the progress of the 7 diamonds.Convening of the site directors and quality managers of the most failing supplier sites for meetings. Operational Context Quality Plant Engineering Leader (QPEL): The holder of this function must contribute to improving the quality level of new and customer vehicles in a context of ever more ambitious quality objectives.The position requires great responsiveness to meet quality and production requirements.Autonomous in the decision to modify the automotive product or the process to guarantee the quality of the vehicles.Support the Quality Plant Engineering Manager in decisions regarding vehicle holds and market releases.Autonomous in convening and leading suppliers, representing Stellantis with suppliers.Act promptly to avoid increasing outstanding rework areas (issues on retouching costs and customer delivery time). Deliverables Quality Plant Engineering Leader (QPEL): Define containment actions for customer protection (including supplier issues).Conduct vehicle issue diagnosis and root cause analysis.Ensure timely execution of pre-analysis activities by his team.Perform risk assessments and lead corrective action plans.Guarantee product-process maturity of the components within his management of serial life (windows change management).Propose alternative product solutions in case of issues (e.g., shortages) to avoid halting mass production in the plant.Participate in Quality ENG tech clubs.Implement good ideas and standards (Read Across).Ensure proper application in the plant of technical requirements and meta function "métiers" standards.Ensure his team's skills are at the required level.Manage daily activities of his team through control meetings.Ensure his team operates safely.Lead quality KPI management to achieve quality objectives, driving improvements/corrective actions and escalation.Resolve systemic/chronic or major quality issues (Top Warranty, Recalls).Provide technical support for Yard Holds / Product Related Issues (PRI's) as the technical referent.Set up and maintain controls for Process/Product Standards for Vehicle & System Functional Objectives (i.e., ADAS, BSR, FEA). Principle Activities Advancing Customer Quality.Animate customer satisfaction/quality through supplier quality animation, Customer Feedback & Networks (Animation processing of Palantir Foundry, Supplier Ticket IT Tool (SQP/NCT/Amadeus), and Customer/Supplier obeyas).Escalate as needed with Quality Plant Engineering Manager and/or Manager FQM of his Quality Meta Function.Ensure feedback lessons learned are communicated to the Team Design.Manage sensitive processes within his perimeter (noises, geometry, sealing, etc.).Ensure the transition of Serial Life Windows & product evolutions/events, including cost savings.Evaluate & restore Hand-Over Profession ENG milestone to anticipate drift.Pilot points of change to implement necessary actions to secure flow.Participate in PPAP animation and issue verdicts J4 (project/factory transfer) or J5 (serial life).Support the plant in maintaining safety during production within his perimeter.Assist the team with expertise as needed on summaries Diamond 1-3 (NC factory) and Diamond 4 (supplier NC).Pilot partners/suppliers for roll-back in case of proven NC.Protect the customer by establishing containment (Interim Solution) or control/rework dam.Formalize Remedies (redesign) Diamond 5-6-7.Pilot Remedy hand-over to Life-Series Redesign Teams.Guarantee the robustness of the plant monitoring plan.Implement and relay the monitoring plan in the plant, with the authority to derogate from it.Animate the performance of different control/reworking workstations by identifying traversal issues.Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPA) on positions identified as sensitive in the flow.Lead his team (attached to the plant) and contribute to performance.Build the team's workload plan, ensuring workload smoothing by prioritizing and allocating tasks, managing escalated subjects.Ensure team efficiency through structured processing (A3 MRP, 5P, etc.) of encountered problems and risks.Coordinate & pilot the convergence of KPI Plant Quality (DVx defect/vehicle, DRR direct run ratio, SCA Stellantis Customer Audit, PPM 3MIS).Skills cross-mapping of his team. Position Requirements Bachelor's degree (BAC+3) or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university (other Engineering degrees, in combination with relevant experience may be considered).Minimum of 8 years of related experience.Previous experience in Engineering Department, Vehicle/mechanic Plant or Project team.Ability to lead an Engineering team to deliver product changes and launches on time.Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, from high-level meetings down to the shop floor.Ability to work off-shift hours as necessary.Self-motivated and directed.Ability to thrive in a high-intensity environment while working on multiple projects.Rigorous and pragmatic.Languages: plant language & English. Preferred Requirements Master's Degree.Green belt.World Class Manufacturing Experience.
