It represents Nu before regulators, government officials and Congress to give our perspective on financial regulation and legislation; work with the business and product teams to understand our growth strategies and successfully support Nu's operation in Mexico; design and propose public policy solutions to major regulatory challenges of the sector; and elaborate strategies to position Nu in public debates. Our team is actively looking for opportunities to improve financial regulation that will allow more companies like Nu to offer digital financial products and services to the Mexican population.As Public Policy Associate you will be expected to:This role will focus on building strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Mexican financial services industry. You will:Develop and execute strategic engagement plans with industry leaders, policymakers, and regulators.Identify and analyze emerging regulatory trends and legislative initiatives, proactively proposing solutions and mitigation strategies to ensure Nu's compliance and competitive advantage.Represent Nu in high-level discussions and meetings, advocating for policies that support Nu's growth and innovation in Mexico.Collaborate with internal teams to translate regulatory requirements into actionable strategies for product development and business operations.Support the Policy team in shaping and implementing the overall Public Policy strategy.We are looking for a Public Policy Associate who has:Bachelor's Degree in Law, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, or related fields. Masters degree in relevant topic preferred (Nice to have).Eight to ten years of experience working with or within governmental regulatory agencies; or within defense and regulatory teams in financial institutions.Knowledge of financial regulation and experience working with regulators is a plus.Ability to manage simultaneous complex projects, quickly adapting to changes and reorganizing your workflow.Ability to influence complex regulatory discussions
