Purchasing vessel parts, supplies, and industrial services to meet the ships requirements while adhering to government purchasing processes.- Managing daily operations according to the company's Safety and Quality Management System.- Managing relationship with Port agents including reconciling advances to actuals.- Maintaining effective communications between the Purchasing Department and Port Engineers and effective and amicable relationships between the Purchasing Department and suppliers' personnel.- Reviewing requisitioned items for quantity, compliance with approved standards, and delivery requirements.- Soliciting quotations (written) based on Purchasing Policies and Procedures. Determining the best source of supply based on price, quality, availability, terms of payment, delivery terms, vendor evaluation, and/or other criteria.- Ensuring that appropriate purchase requests are handled efficiently, in accordance with budgetary and inventory control, and with the approval of the Contracts and Program Managers.- Ensuring that, purchase orders are cost-efficient and made with approved suppliers, and that negotiated supply contracts are used.- Coordinating with vessels, and vendors for delivery of supplies and stores to vessels.- Prepare Monthly Port cost report and receive and reconcile all invoices and process for payments.- Provide monthly accruals to accounting.A minimum of 1 years' experience in a demanding administrative position or closely related position.- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.- Ability to obtain and retain a Security Clearance- Able to demonstrate administrative, organization, and multi-tasking skills.- Able to maintain relationships with vendors and ship personnel.- Strong communication and customer service skills.- Ability to prioritize tasks, perform detailed execution of tasks and adapt to a changing environment.- Understanding of business processes and functions.- Prior purchasing experience preferred.Pay: From $18,000.00 per monthWork Location: In person
