**BAT MEXICO** **IS LOOKING FOR A PURCHASING PLANNING INTERN**

**FUNCTION**: SNO
**LOCATION**:Monterrey, Nuevo León. México.
**ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES**
This role is part the SNO area.
**Reports to**:Purchasing Planner Executive
**WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR**
- Place materials purchase orders/contracts in-line with supplier lead-times to meet multiple factory production plan requirements in SAP and Rapid Response system.
- Ensure period of material cover is sufficient, whilst maintaining target inventory levels and optimal supplier price. Maintain target stock levels within the factory. Arrange delivery of materials with the supplier to the factory and where necessary resolve any logistics issues.
- Execute all cost reduction activities initiated by procurement, factory, etc. Explore opportunities for improved planning efficiency and placing of materials orders.
- Input master data into SAP and Rapid Response system for new materials.
- To work with the Production Planning team when a material shortage is identified to ensure the issue is resolved quickly with minimum impact to the factory.
- Working with other teams and departments to implement the phasing in and out of new/old materials as part of a controlled process (achieving agreed deadlines with minimum cost).
- To liaise with suppliers on an ongoing basis to reserve production capacity (by providing material forecasts) to meet future supply requirements for multiple factories
- Highlight serious supplier issues and work with the management team to resolve issues quickly and with mínimal impact to the business.
- Ensure activities within Weekly Control Cycle process are executed on time in full.
**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- General Knowledge on Supply Chain, specific skills will be developed during the internship.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Good English proficiency (at least 80%).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- To work unsupervised and under pressure.
- Good organizational and prioritization skills
- Student in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or any equivalent qualifications.
