Join the dynamic Administration Team at Peninsula Steel, a leader in the steel manufacturing industry, as a Purchasing Specialist. This pivotal role supports the backbone of our daily operations by managing and streamlining procurement processes across various departments. You will play a key role in collaborating with different departments, offering you a unique opportunity to broaden your understanding of the industry and refine your skills in a multifaceted business environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- ** Conduct Market Research**: Stay abreast of market trends to identify the most efficient and cost-effective suppliers and products. Use various sources such as industry reports, trade journals, and digital media to gather data and insights.
- ** Engage in Active Supplier Management**: Evaluate, select, and maintain relationships with suppliers. Ensure suppliers meet our standards for quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Develop performance metrics and conduct regular reviews.
- ** Process Internal Purchase Orders**: Manage and process all internal purchase orders from various business areas. Ensure accurate and timely handling of orders from initiation to completion.
- ** Vendor and Supplier Profile Management**: Create and maintain vendor profiles in our system. Update records as necessary to keep track of changes and ensure accurate supplier data.
- ** Logistics and Shipping Assistance**: Provide logístical support and assist with shipping arrangements for various business areas to ensure smooth operation and timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
- ** Hotel Reservations and Service Requests**: Manage hotel bookings for business travel and handle service requests with vendors to support business operations.
- ** IT Support Coordination**: Coordinate with IT vendors to resolve issues and fulfill requests, ensuring that all technological needs of the business are met efficiently.
- ** Purchase Order Follow-up**: Monitor the entire process from receipt of purchase orders to the delivery of services or products, ensuring all steps are executed effectively and in compliance with internal procedures.

**Position Requirements**:

- ** Educat**ional Background**: Desired degree in Administration, Accounting, or any other relevant administrative field.
- ** Professional Experience**: 2 or more years of experience as a Buyer, in Procurement, or in a Purchasing role.
- ** Language Skills**: Advanced and strong English skills are essential for effective communication within our international business environment.
- ** Technical Proficiency**: Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Experience with SAP is considered a valuable plus.
