Purchasing Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:Supervise the team of buyers and work with suppliers, production, materials and inventory management to ensure the appropriate materials are available to meet the production schedule; coordinate with inventory to time the shipment of specific materials in line with production schedules and inventory goals; and works with suppliers to procure the appropriate materials for productionPRINCIPAL DUTIES:Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the Purchasing function.Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.Analyzes market and delivers conditions to determine present and future material availability.Supervise buyer- purchasing standard workLead Purchasing activities, and inventory management.Monitor PO place, expedites, have conferences with suppliers and Lean alignmentInteracts with Engineering and Quality departments on new products and/or revisions to existing products as well as quality parts.Serve as the Purchasing ethics/compliance representative.Supervise external and internal compliance audits.REQUIREMENTS:-Bachelor's Degree completed-5+ years of experience in a related Purchasing role.?-At least 2 years of experience in a leadership position (must)-Previous Supply Chain experience (planner, buyer/procurement, warehouse)-Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office software.-2 years of experience in SAP -material master/MM ( must)-Business/conversational English is a must due to the nature of the role.Johnson Controls does not request pregnancy or HIV testing as a requirement for admission, permanence or promotion.
