What is AlphaGen Technology (AGT)?

The Alpha Gen Technology group (AGT) is a function within Aladdin Engineering that enables BlackRock investment teams to deliver market leading performance (alpha) to their clients.

We work with investment researchers to develop predictive signals and strategies that are traded on BlackRock hedge funds and other active portfolios. The services we provide range from: quantitative library development, model engineering, alpha product development and investment technology R&D.

You will join an interdisciplinary team, building software for market prediction, used in BlackRock's powerful asset management platform: Aladdin. We are a diverse and distributed group of experts in software development, Quant and Data engineering from Belgrade, Budapest, Gurgaon, London, Mexico City, Mumbai, New York, and San Francisco. Responsibilities: You will be working with elite investment professionals to build cutting-edge, high quality alpha signals and platform. Depending on your interest and the role this may include:Work with Researchers and Portfolio Managers to implement trading signals and models used for making investment decisionsIdentify and utilize new alpha-enabling technology in signal implementationDeveloping APIs based on microservices architecture built on cloud native architecture stack.Identifying and prototyping new alpha-enabling technology.Partnering with other engineering and partner teams at BlackRock to integrate with Aladdin.Identify and implement ways to improve the efficiency of our systemWork in close collaboration with both our Product Managers and Portfolio Managers to support and evolve our production products and processes Qualifications:

You Have: BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experienceAt least 2+ years' experience working in data analytics environments2+ years experience in PythonExperience with dev ops tools like Git, Maven, or Azure DevOpsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPassion for learning and implementing new technologiesAbility to operate under fast-paced environment Skills that would be a plus: 2+ years experience in Java, SQL, and Cloud technologies including S3, Kubernetes, AzureML, and Dask / AirflowAbility to apply mathematics, machine learning or quantitative analysis to solve sophisticated problems and deliver innovative solutions with a keen attention to detailExposure to developing REST APIsExperience / Familiarity with databases and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks etc..Exposure to NoSQL platformsContainer-Orchestration technologies like KubernetesExperience working on a globally distributed team What will you learn on the job?
