Our Global Customer Support division is responsible for Kongsberg Maritime services, upgrades, and support in the aftermarket. Our 2300 employees are present in 35 different countries around the world. During the operational lifetime of more than 30.000 installations, we ensure cost-efficient delivery of services, upgrades, and spare parts to secure availability and predictability to our customers.

The QHSE Advisor is responsible for the day-to-day enforcement and oversight of Quality and Health, safety, and environmental policies within the organization. This role ensures operational compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies, customer requirements and works to minimize occupational health and safety risks and environmental impact. The QHSE Advisor plays an integral role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment while ensuring the organization's adherence to quality standards.

This position provides technical and administrative support to Country Manager and Field Service Engineers (FSE) activity in on all HSE and risk management aspects of operations in line with KM Americas' business objectives.

Key accountabilities

Supports management in developing and maintaining a QHSE and Risk Management system that proactively supports the business objectives of KM Americas.
- Enforce QHSE policies and programs in alignment with established strategies and legal standards.
- Ensure KM Mexico, KM Panama and KM Chile and all its employees documentation comply with HSE customer's requirements
- Assist on implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certification according KM Americas plans.
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
- Facilitate safety training sessions for all employees to ensure understanding and adherence to safety practices.
- Conduct workplace, vendor or customer site compliance checks through regular site inspections and audits.
- Respond to accidents or incidents, coordinating with the investigation team and managing worker's compensation claims.
- Compile detailed reports on QHSE matters in Latam region, including incident statistics, inspection results, and audit outcomes.
- Support management on QHSE matters, providing operational insights and solutions to workplace safety and environmental issues.
- Maintain current knowledge of QHSE legislation in Mexico, Panama and Chile and ensure operational activities comply with all laws and regulations.
- Participate in emergency response planning and provide support during emergency situations.
- Organize QHSE documentation and maintain records to ensure all required documents are current and accessible.
- Prepare relevant QSHE material in local language (Spanish) in line with KM Americas and global programs.
- Manage and investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Perform incident reporting as needed, following the appropriate local laws and regulations.
- Perform risk assessment on projects and service trips, with an emphasis on capturing risks and identifying risk reducing measures.
- Support KM Americas teams in the investigation of safety incidents and near misses (on service trips, projects or in the office). Ensure outcomes are properly communicated, with a focus on lessons learned and ensure that records are kept.
- Conduct and or support internal audits.

Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Quality or HSE (ISO 9001/14001/45001 Lead Auditor, Lead Implementer, PMP, etc).
- Proven experience in QHSE role, preferably in Mexico and/or Panama
- Strong knowledge of QHSE regulations and standards in Mexico and Panama.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct training sessions and presentation
- Fluency in Spanish and English
