.JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Summary:Interface with all Bendix CVS suppliers in the following areas: quality performance and expectations, interpretation of requirements per engineering drawings and specifications, and supplier improvement, supplier development and audits.Essential Functions:Acting as liaison between suppliers, group and plant buyers, plant quality and engineering. Acting as mediator between suppliers and plant quality when problems arise (Dispute process). Conduct supplier audits (VDA, PSA, Walk Control Plan). Evaluate suppliers in support of vendor sourcing efforts. Participate in Design for Manufacturability-Integrity process as Standard Components (SC) category expert, ensure flow-down of the Bendix DFMEA into the Supplier's APQP documents, conduct on-site DMI validation by confirming supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is complete and acceptable to submit to Bendix using plant. Lead and support supplier improvement and development projects, specifically PAVE (Stage 3) and support of Quick Response Team meetings to drive supplier performance improvements. Maintain vendor master information for example, PAVE status, Quality Management System Status (QMSS), supplier release and classification status.Knowledge:Sound knowledge of ISO9000 and IATF16949 standards required. Sound knowledge of Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) modules including PPAP, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Quality Planning & Control Plan (APQP). Possesses working knowledge of audit methodologies i.E. process audits, walk the control plan, product audits, etc.Standard Components (SC):Expert knowledge of Fasteners manufacturing (nuts, bolts, screws), spring manufacturing, coatings (plating, anodizing, painting) processes and testing methods for Standard Components.Experience:Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Quality required. Experience in all AIAG modules required. Experience in auditing to IS9000 and IATF16949 standards preferred.Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office suites including Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, etc. Strong analytical skills and problem solving utilizing six-sigma tools and 8D principles. Multi-task oriented. Highly motivated, self-starter. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including process documentation. Project management, follow-up and team skills essential. Strong training, coaching and mentoring skills. Ability to adapt to priority changes.Education:Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred.
