JOB DESCRIPTION: Position Summary: Develops and updates quality systems to drive continual improvement of manufacturing quality performance. Coordinates internal and external 8D's. Keeps communication with internal customers to follow up on quality issues. Acts as a liaison for the team to communicate and implement PSA procedures and customer quality requirements. Maintains plant quality metrics and performs analysis to establish actions for improvement. Participates in product transfers and new launches. Essential Functions: Customer and supplier quality related activities in a manufacturing environment. Coordinate quality inspectors. Drive customer and FTTSF quality metrics to production areas. Take ownership of companywide quality initiatives and launch of new products. Start and lead containment tasks. Maintain quality systems. Engage in supplier quality activities to support manufacturing area. Maintain customer quality metrics. Drive reduction of internal non-conformances. Act as the voice of the customer regarding quality issues. Communicate and support product safety to production team members. Attend VDA audits. Visit customer locations if needed. Have the authority to stop production and/or shipment if product quality is compromised. Ensure customer requirements are met. Communicate the need for product safety. Support PSA activities and procedures with team members. Perform all activities required by the nature of the position. Adhere to the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System. Management & Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise quality audits to ensure that manufacturing and quality processes are properly followed to avoid internal and external rejects and COPQ. Knowledge: Working knowledge of automotive/trucking industry quality requirements and ISO/IATF-16949 standards. Experience: Minimum 3+ years in a quality engineering or manufacturing engineering role. Skills: Solid experience in a technical field such as quality engineering for assembly or machining operations. High level of energy, enthusiasm, and optimism, as well as a sense of urgency. Capable of working in a team environment with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving, project planning, and follow-up skills are essential
