**Job Summary**
**Essential Functions**
- Show plant leadership for all quality initiatives and quality audits.
- Implement and manage all safety and quality systems including HACCP, SQF, Food Safety and Quality System.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, problem areas, and products that require improvement
- Data collection, analysis and reporting on key product quality attributes.
- Respond to customer complaints related to product quality, as well as follow them up.
- Responsible for maintaining a database of traceability and customer complaints.
- Supervise processes and facilities.
- Plan, organize and control calibration systems and external analysis of raw material and finished product.
- Follow up on corrective actions generated by internal/external audits and customer complaints.
- Keep updated the lists of technical specifications of raw materials and the finished product.
- Coordinate and maintain control of batches of raw materials and inputs entering the plant.
- Coordinate with the production area the destination of batches of non-conforming process or finished products that were observed or rejected.
- Verify compliance with the pest control program according to the SQF.
- Verify daily internal control records.
- Release the finished product.
- Participate as a member of an internal Food Safety and Quality team for the development of the programs required by the SQF code.
- Comply with applicable law.
- Effectively coordinate cleaning, plant areas and operational needs.
- Coordinate the scheduling of the daily, weekly and monthly cleaning of the plant.
- Perform the requisition of cleaning supplies for all areas.
- Manage and follow up on the labor needs of the personnel in charge.
- Comply in a timely manner with the cleaning and maintenance requirements of the company.
- Effectively supervise the work done by the personnel in charge.
- Supervise the correct use of cleaning and somatization chemicals.
- Report any unsafe conditions in equipment, building and work tools to avoid possible accidents.
- Comply with and enforce the standards set by the food safety and quality management system.
- Properly carry out activities related to the safety and quality of the finished product.
- Comply with and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP'S).
As an SQF practitioner you must:
- Carry out the development and implementation of the fundamentals of Food Safety, the development of the Food Safety and Quality plan.
- Verify and coordinate the prerequisite program according to SQF
- Review the development, implementation and maintenance of the SQF system.
- Take appropriate actions to maintain the integrity of the SQF system.
- Communicate to key personnel all essential information to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF system.
- Coordinate the Food Safety and Quality plans of the different production lines.
- Plan, organize and control calibration systems and external analysis of raw material and finished product.
- Coordinate and follow up on corrective actions generated by internal/external audits and customer complaints.
- Maintain a file of approved vendors.
- Keep updated the list of technical specifications of raw materials and finished product.
- Coordinate and maintain control of batches of raw materials and inputs entering the plant.
- Coordinate with the production area, the destination of the batches of non-conforming or finished products in process that were observed or rejected.
- Verify compliance with the pest prevention program according to SQF.
- Verify daily internal control records.
- Release the finished product.
- Participate as a member & leader of the internal Food Safety and Quality team for the development of the programs required by the SQF code.
- Verify the content of the training programs taking care that they comply with the prerequisite program and those demanded by the SQF code.
- Develop and implement procedures for the control of documents and records.
- Establish statistical data of the Critical Control Points and Critical Quality Points.
- Develop the set of procedures regarding the cleaning program, according to what is established by the SQF code and verify the adequate filling of the information in the records specially designed for this purpose.
- Evaluate cleaning verification methods.
**Education and Qualifications**
- Chemical or food engineering. Master's studies in area to end is a plus.
- Knowledge in HACCP, ISO, SQF, Food safety, Kosher certification and FDA requirements.
