**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintain/improve the Quality System
- Responsible for supervising and evaluating the performance of personnel in the Quality Department. This individual recommends training requirements, has the duty to keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives and may recommend that personnel be hired or removed from the department.
- Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient and furnishes external reports as necessary.
- Insure adherence of the standards by all associates
- Meet with customers, vendors, quality representatives and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required
- Coordinates and approves all sample submissions of new products and engineering changes.
- Among the duties of this position are management reporting and policymaking as it pertains to the department.
- Responsible for the management of the Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control Plan, multi-disciplinary activities and reporting in the customer-prescribed format.
- Achieve the yearly financial objectives for the Quality Department through planning, directing, controlling, implementing, evaluating, monitoring, and forecasting as needed to achieve budgets and cost of sales.
- Project a positive image to peers and subordinates, to the customers we serve, to the industry in which we participate and to the community in which we live by producing a cost-efficient, quality product in a productive environment.
- Report the performance of the quality system to management for review and as a basis for improvement of the quality system.
- Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
- Develop standardized production, quality, and customer-service standards
- Identify potential risks before they become a problem, focusing on root cause analysis and preventive action
- Perform internal and external quality audits and compile detailed reports of findings
- **Build a strong team through coaching, mentoring, specific training and performance evaluations**:
- Set, design and implement the quality indices necessary for the evaluation and control of products and processes.
- Coordinate with the different department heads to ensure that the objectives and goals are being met in terms of quality control.

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**:
- College degree with a **minimum of eight years automotive quality and launch management** experience (FORD, GM, KIA preferred)
