.Quality Staff EngineerLocation: Onsite / Juárez, Nuevo León, MX.Opportunity Kohler FaucetsBasic FunctionUnder the general direction of the Senior Manager of Quality Engineering for Faucets/Metals/Vikrell (FMV), this engineer's main objective is to successfully support New Product Development (NPD) within the primary scope of the Faucets business. Specifically, ensuring KBDP deliverables that could impact customer or brand perception of our products are properly executed.This engineer will heavily interact with the other Faucet Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer and the balance of the FMV Quality team and may help drive customer feedback into the Engineering Standards to prevent replication of issues in future development. The engineer's goals are both warranty reduction and improved customer feedback metrics.Specific ResponsibilitiesSupport Faucets Engineering in the New Product Development (NPD) process, including identifying Critical to Quality Characteristics, assessing and developing appropriate process controls, and reviewing qualification and verification test plans and results.Identify, lead, coach, facilitate, and/or participate in quality and cost improvement projects to support strategic objectives.Drive and facilitate all aspects of quality within New Product Development teams.Analyze product field failure products and data for root cause identification and elimination.Support KQMS activities and initiatives as needed.Train and coach other associates in Quality improvement methodologies.Coordinate product containment activities, warranty data, and product failure investigations.Relationships and ContactsSupervisory Relationships:Reports to the Senior Manager, FMV Quality Engineering, K&B. Mentors, coaches, and/or advises less experienced Quality/Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians. Operates independently with minimal guidance from managers and/or senior staff.Organizational Relationships:Frequent contact with Product Engineering, Marketing, Customer Service, and Customer Quality regarding NPD projects, warranty claims, and other improvement activities.External Relationships:Some contact with customers, distributors, contractors, and end consumers regarding product performance.Skill LevelPerforms assignments of a complicated nature requiring a high degree of technical skill and analytical abilities. Demonstrated ability to understand and influence business results through quality and cost improvement projects. Leads cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical or business problems.Education and ExperienceBachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering or scientific discipline.Previous experience in quality engineering, manufacturing systems or processes related technologies.Past results include successful technical leadership on high financial impact projects and/or programs
