Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Performs technical duties and activities within prescribed time frames. Participates in projects to improve overall process and technical efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Quality Engineering on implement and maintain Quality systems to meet the requirements of production, ISO 9001 and TL 9000.Support Quality Engineering in the Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process-related concerns and Customer notifications received.Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, lean methods, etc.Support training to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality alerts, etc.Monitor and report CTQ's performance in the processes (i.e. SPC).Support statistical analysis to engineering and production as related to quality issues.Develop and assurance of measurement systems thru the use of statistical tools (i.e. GR&R).Ability to execute process audit, prepare report.Experiences/Education - Required0-2 years of experience in a similar position.Experience in ISO 9001, TL 9000 is a plus.Technical SkillsSPC Knowledge.Experience with problem-solving tools.Excellent computer skills (Including, but not limited to: Windows, Office, Visio, Project Manager, SPC Excel, Minitab).Additional SkillsExperience on PFD, PFMEA, and Control Plan.Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts.SAP & Windchill knowledge desirable.Experience in use of measurement tools (CMM, Optical Comparator).Drawing Interpretation.Corning Puts YOU First!
