.Job Summary:The Quality Technician will be responsible for performing final technical inspections and in-process product inspections to ensure conformance with work orders, drawing specifications, standard requirements, or templates. The Quality Technician will also work with production and management staff to identify issues as they arise.Job Duties:Product testing and inspection (visual, dimensional, pressure testing, etc.)Cross checks of product at each state of operations to prints/drawings, traveler, inspection sheets, control plan and visual criteria.Ensure welding gauges are calibrated and properly identified.Understand how to use welding gauges.Collection and data entry of inspection results and/or quality records.Monitor gauge inventory and other quality supplies.Identification and reporting of nonconforming products.Ensure product is inspected or tested according to the inspection protocol or plan.Assists the Quality Supervisor with plant wide communication of quality alerts or quality concerns.Alert Quality Supervisor of any nonconforming parts detected.Assists members of the Quality Department as needed and as time permits.Other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed above may be changed or supplemented at any time in accordance with business needs and conditions.Required Skills:The individual must have a solid understanding of metal fabrication concepts and processes.The individual must possess a keen sense of attention to detail.Must be able to determine material type and gauges.Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.Ability to understand and use proper methods of measurement.Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.Strong team-working skills, with an ability to collaborate with a variety of team members.Strong analytical skills.Computer/technology skills required.Ensure ISO 9001 standards are understood and met.Experience and Education Required:High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate.2-3 years of experience in a related Quality function.Knowledge of job shop software, such as E2 JobBOSS preferred.Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).ISO 9001 experience preferred.Physical Demands:Regular and predictable attendance is required.Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.Employee must be able to read, see, hear and speak English.Employee will frequently be required to lift, push, pull and carry up to 70lbs and larger amounts with assistance.
