Stellantis has crafted a bold strategic plan that paves the way to achieve carbon net zero by 2038. To deliver this objective the introduction of advanced technologies in Powertrain (like new energy storage cells), Electric and Electronics devices (like embedded electronics as well as electrical motors) involves more and more the knowledge on raw materials as key skill in the product development. In Global Purchasing and Supply Chain team (GPSC), the Materials and Technical Expertise group (MTE) is in charge to deal with raw materials technologies to secure them.
In particular:
- Characterization (chemical and physical) of active materials (CAM, AAM, ELECTROLYTES, SEPARATOR, BINDERS) in Li-ion batteries Gen3, Gen4, Gen5 to define the cells' specs and rise the performances
- Electro-Chemical phenomena occurring in CAM, AAM to guarantee performances and cell healthy
- Qualification of re-used and re-cycled raw materials in advanced CAM, AAM, ELECTROLYTES, SEPARATORS and impact on product performances and to linked to circularity technologies used
- Support and follow the development of new chemical materials: water-based binders, 100% Si based Anodes
- Modelling and Simulation of materials in terms of crystal lattices to evaluate the electrochemical benefits (stablity, charge carrier, mobility..)
Mandatory background in chemistry of solid state / crystallinity of metals (Nickel, Cobalt, Lithium) / physics of solid matter
