The Regional Business Head is accountable for the management of complex, critical, and large professional disciplinary areas. This role leads and directs a team of professionals and requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the function. The position applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions and is generally accountable for the delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/geographic regions. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level, with some external communication also necessary. The Regional Business Head is accountable for the end results of an area and exercises control over resources, policy formulation, and planning. The role primarily affects a sub-function and involves short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for its own area. Full management responsibility includes managing people, budget, and planning, which encompasses performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and budget approval.Responsibilities:The Strategy Senior Manager will report to the Strategy Group Manager and play a key role in developing initiatives and projects throughout the region. The Strategy Senior Manager will be responsible for the following:In working with the Regional Head of Strategy and the Senior Management Team, help identify and develop regional projects that could materially improve the effectiveness and performance of the business.Work with teams to coordinate projects and strategic information and presentations from Latin America to top management and the business. The candidate will need to establish communications with and influence members of senior management of different business areas.With team members, develop processes for providing ad hoc information on strategic initiatives required by management.Engage and influence several teams involved in projects that lead to commercial excellence.Apply in-depth understanding of ongoing projects in the businesses and region to provide strategic guidance to outside teams throughout the execution phase.Develop recommendations to advise Citi's senior management on high-priority initiatives, including growth strategy, product and segment strategies, and cross-business initiatives.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications:10+ years strategic experience preferred.Ideally experience working in multiple countries.Deep knowledge of the middle market commercial banking space and the leading drivers of commercial excellence.Fundamental understanding of the drivers of value and the financial statements in a commercial bank.Outstanding problem structuring and analytic capabilities; ability to take a complex problem and organize it into discrete pieces for solution. Ability to size and prioritize large-scale initiatives across businesses.Significant experience working effectively with senior and middle-level managers and with large interdisciplinary teams.Education:Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
