.Purpose Statement: Responsible for identifying materials suitable for corporate contracts within assigned commodity scope.
Responsible for developing and administering contracts which take full advantage of the total corporate volume and developing supply chain strategies to yield component contracts at the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Responsible for generating forecast and total purchase reports for management as required.Key Job Accountabilities:- Develop, communicate, and execute the forward growth strategy for assigned commodities.
Conduct industry research and have a high degree of business knowledge of the manufacturers, suppliers and market place.- Establish performance objectives and associated metrics for the Commodities Group.
Track the performance and report progress on a monthly or quarterly basis as directed.- Support sites in the region when critical component escalations arise.- Provide necessary guidance and support to the organization on the commodity strategy.- Cultivate and maintain regional and global strategic supplier relationships with their executives for all major component types within assigned commodities.- Accountable to execute on Plexus' Best People strategy, leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring that their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.Additional Accountabilities:- Recommend suppliers for specific component contracts to Manager - Commodity.- Carry out contract administration duties, including quarterly reviews of all contracts.- Prepare for and initiate contract negotiation under the direction of the Manager - Commodity.- Assist marketing in the quoting process with commodity expertise to obtain competitive material costs.- Responsible for managing the overall performance of matrix suppliers.- Maintain exceptional knowledge of key suppliers, and contacts within matrix suppliers to the executive level.- Lead supplier business reviews with all key suppliers to cover price, OTD, improvement goals, key initiatives, and market information.- Take the leadership role in managing assigned projects.- Develop and implement negotiation strategies that satisfy the objectives of all participating divisions and business units as it relates to TCO and materials management.- Occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 30%).- Additional duties as assigned.Education/Experience Qualifications:- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; additional Master's level coursework is preferred.- Seven (7) years of related experience is required; Ten (10) years of related experience is preferred.- ISM C.P.M., CPSM, or APICS CPIM certifications, Karass Negotiating or Equivalent preferred.An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered
