**About This Role**:
The **Regional Manager - Latin America** manages Hunter's activities in an assigned region (Latin America) and is the chief communicator to the corporate office for information pertinent to the region. Acts as a mentor to staff, balanced with distribution, contractor, specification, and government agency efforts resulting in comprehensive support of entire customer base. Continually suggests and implements improved processes, training, education, and staffing requirements needed to meet goals.

**Essential Functions**:
- Mentors field personnel to maximize activities with distribution. Plans, manages, and oversees activities within assigned region. Manages annual goals, objectives, and budgetary responsibility and communicates status with corporate headquarters.
- Manages the communication with distributor personnel, contractors, specifiers, and other irrigation professionals on a regular basis within assigned area.
- Provides direction regarding objectives to team members while promoting team atmosphere. Travels with Area Managers on an ongoing basis to provide training and development.
- Recommends distribution changes as necessary and informs management of events, territory occurrences, and other pertinent information.
- Recommends individual and/or territory budget requirements. Manages individual and territory expenditures within budget, saving money whenever possible and seeking approval for items or events outside of approved budget.
- Ensures customer training programs, trade shows, and promotional events are carried out in assigned region.
- Ensures adherence to Hunter's high level of ethical business practice, and to rules and guidelines of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and US Dept of Treasury Sanctions and Embargoes.
- Performs field service and support as required.
**Education/Training Required**:
- Requires four years of college or technical training in landscape architecture, irrigation design, or closely related field, or equivalent education and experience.
**Experience Required and Preferred**:
- Requires a minimum of five years progressive experience in a professional sales or technical support position with a minimum of three years within the irrigation or lighting industry.

- Knowledge of consultative techniques, distribution channels, business management, and marketing techniques. Requires strong commitment to customer service.
- Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
- In depth knowledge of finance and budgeting processes. Ability to prepare budgets and manage expenses within budget. Ability to monitor budgets of assigned staff.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, public speaking, and written communication skills in English.
- Must be goal orientated with the ability to meet or exceed objectives. Requires the ability to lead, plan, organize, staff, and control operations within assigned region.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, counsel, train, and develop assigned staff. Must demonstrate the ability to motivate people, build a team, and manage performance to meet goals. Must possess effective conflict management skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively, live in a strategic location within the territory, and work flexible hours. Valid driver's license and driving record sufficient to meet requirements to be insured by company. Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport.
- IA Level II certification with additional Level III certifications preferred.
- **_Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Fluency in Portuguese is preferred._**
