is seeking a skilled and proactive Remote U-Certs Legal Assistant (Prepare Filing) to join our growing legal team.
This position will report directly to the Immigration Department Supervisor.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of immigration-related laws and be capable of making reasoned decisions while performing a variety of filing activities.
We are looking for someone with a client-service attitude and exceptional case management skills.
You should also possess knowledge of procedural requirements for various non-immigrant and immigrant visas, particularly in the U-Certs area.
This legal assistant will participate in all aspects of our immigration practice, including assisting in the management of client relationships, case review, document preparation, and filing of non-immigrant petitions.Responsibilities:Client Consultation: Conduct client interviews to collect necessary information and explain procedural requirements for U-Certs and related visa filings.Document Preparation: Prepare all necessary forms, petitions, and supporting documents for filing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with immigration laws.Legal Research: Conduct legal research on relevant immigration laws, policies, and regulations to support case preparation and filing.Application Filing: File applications with appropriate government agencies, ensuring that all documentation is submitted on time and according to procedural guidelines.Case Management: Oversee and manage case files, track deadlines, and ensure proper organization of client information throughout the entire immigration process.Client Communication: Maintain communication with clients to provide updates on the status of their cases and clarify any procedural questions they may have.Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks related to immigration case management, including filing, scheduling, and managing case documents.Compliance Monitoring: Monitor changes in immigration laws and policies to ensure all cases are in compliance with current regulations.Professional Development: Continuously develop your legal knowledge and skills through training, research, and collaboration with team members.Qualifications:At least 1-2 years of experience in immigration law, specifically with non-immigrant and immigrant visa filings, such as U-Certs and other USCIS petitions.Bilingual (English/Spanish) with high proficiency in both written and spoken communication.Previous experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in another legal capacity.Familiarity with family-based petitions, humanitarian visas, EOIR procedures, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS applications is a plus.Experience with case management software and other legal tools to manage client files efficiently.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills
