**Responsibilities**:
- To produce frequent and insightful written analysis of a country, region or global with forecasts relating to the underlying factors that drive currency, bond and equity markets; to understand/explain policy events to Citi's clients both external and internal. The ability to lead teams. Supervise juniors
- Address bespoke client requests
- Interact with clients internal and external as requested by Sales & Trading
- Develop relationships with Citi clients
- Collaboration with colleagues
- Stay informed on developments that have a bearing on the macro environment
- Address client requests
- Engage in Citi's broader corporate objectives, such as recruitment and training of junior analysts and associates
**Qualifications**:
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Clear and effective communications both written and spoken
- Advanced technical skills
- Methodical approach and demonstrated organizational capabilities
- Good interpersonal skills and proven team player
- Possess a positive attitude, drive and initiative
- Secure and maintain applicable licenses
**Education**:
- Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
- The economist will forecast and write reports about Mexican macro variables (activity, inflation, rates, and FX, etc.)
- Strong commercial and analytical skills are a must.
- Experience in having covered Emerging Market economies in the buy side or sell side would be an advantage.
- The economist will cover Mexico with the possibility of adding coverage of some Latin American economies later.
