Who are we looking for?Our client is seeking a Safety Engineer with experience in identifying and managing HSE risks, prioritizing and developing appropriate mitigation strategies. A self-starter with proven experience of working under pressure with an excellent record of delivering to deadlines and making decisions. Equipped with essential leadership qualities including managing remote teams, decision making, developing people, and managing innovation & change. Also with experience or a track record of evaluating and improving safety behavior and culture in complex working environments.
Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental science, or a related field.10 years of related safety/operational experience and/or training in the oil and gas industry (preferably 3 years in offshore).Knowledge or training in occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance with applicable industry, governmental, and/or international standards.Knowledge of delivering hands-on health, safety, and environmental training.Ability to assist with developing, implementing, and coordinating comprehensive health and safety programs.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (training/presentations/report writing).Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Skilled in the standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the health, safety, and environmental fields.Key ResponsibilitiesWork as a subject matter expert in complex and multi-stakeholder environments with strong influencing and interpersonal skills.Possess a strong knowledge of industrial standards and codes including SOLAS, MARPOL, API, and IOGP.Investigate industrial incidents to identify root causes utilizing a recognized RCA methodology (preferably Taproot) and developing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.Lead or facilitate Operational HSE risk assessments (i.e., SIMOP studies) utilizing recognized techniques such as HAZOP, Bow-tie, QRA, etc.Develop and audit Safety and environmental management systems. Preferably a certified lead auditor of ISO 45001 and 14001.Develop and implement emergency management systems for highly hazardous multi-site operations (including offshore facilities).Job BenefitsMonthly Base Salary – aligned with company employees with similar skills.Monthly Overbase – 25% of your monthly base salary.Benefits Supplement – 20% of your monthly base salary, increasing after years of service.Severance Package – year 2 to 5: 2 week's pay for each year of service, Year 6+: 4 week's pay for each year after.Employment Tax – if employee chooses to separate from their 'home country' for income tax purposes.Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) (eligible after 12 months of service).Incentive Plan – annual; based on performance.Travel Allowance – annual; approx. $8,200 per household member over 11 years old residing in Saudi Arabia.Vacation & Paid Holidays – 38 vacation days / 4 travel days / 11-13 paid holidays.Medical/Dental Plan – complimentary in-Kingdom medical care for employee and eligible family members.Educational Assistance Plan (EAP) – Out of Kingdom Assistance and In Kingdom Assistance.Settling in Allowance – one-time payment based on status.Stages of our Hiring Process1.
