About the role:
DNV Energy division seeks a Wind Energy Consultant - Engineer to join our Mexico Project Engineering and Due Diligence (PE&DD) team. This role is to enhance the capabilities and increase resources of the PE&DD team, which oversees Technical Due diligence (TDD) for project financing and merger and acquisition (M&A) processes and Owner's Engineering and Construction Monitoring services for wind energy projects.
This position is based out of our DNV location in Queretaro, Mexico. Applicants wishing to work mainly from our Mexico City location will also be considered.
What You'll Do
- Performance of Technical Due Diligence - This requires understanding what is needed for a proper technical risk assessment of a renewable project, including:
Assessment of Balance of Plant (civil and electrical infrastructure)Wind technology and site suitability assessment (climatic, acoustic, ground conditions, etc.)Technical analysis of project contracts. Amongst others:
Construction contracts (turbine supply and balance of plant)
Operation and maintenance contractsGrid Connection AgreementsPower Purchase AgreementsAssessment of project construction scheduleReview of project authorizations, licenses, or land securement contractsEvaluation of technical inputs for the Project's Financial ModelNOTE: Detailed experience in one or several of the above aspects would be valued (e.g., civil or electrical design, contract negotiations, regulatory aspects related to interconnection or PPAs, etc.)Project management of small/medium/large projects (from 5MW to 1000MW) -Coordination of a team of specialists (locally and internationally) to provide top-level technical advisory and deliver high-quality reports, according to the tasks detailed above for a Technical Due DiligenceOwner's and/or Lender's Engineer (also known as Independent Engineer) during the pre-construction and construction phase of the projects:
technical Due Diligence reports for support Project Financing or M&A decisionsConstruction monitoring to assess construction progress and control the quality of the workMonthly construction meeting organization with the contractor(s)Approval of contractual payment schedule condition precedentsApproval of take-over condition precedents and punch list issuanceCommercial support (awareness of market trends, participation in industry conferences, proposal management, and winning new business)Technology scouting and market watchAssistance with general group activitiesWhat we offer:

About you:
What Is Required Bachelor's Degree required. Bachelors in engineering preferredA bachelor's degree in economics will also be considered, with a demonstrated understanding of technical aspects and experience in financing renewable projectsMinimum of 1-2 years of previous experience within the renewable energy industry or renewable energy taught course modules requiredUnderstanding of enforceable norms and regulations within the renewable industryKnowledge of the general energy market, particularly the renewable energy market in Mexico & the Caribbean. Knowledge of other Latin America energy markets will be appreciated, particularly Brazil and ChileExperience developing, designing, reviewing, and/or supervising renewable projects, including technology, civil and electrical infrastructure works, and/or grid interconnection. Experience in other kinds of energy projects would also be valuable
