Purpose:
You will be responsible for:
Under supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
- Performs complex, routine tests in compliance with the laboratory procedures and tests methods in order to provide support to the timely delivery and product manufacturing to customers.
- Performs compendial tests.
- Performs raw material tests, product in process and finished product when full training has been fulfilled.
- Performs daily calibrations/verifications and routine maintenance to equipment and laboratory instruments according to Procedures (SOPs).
- Works in compliance with the current good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and laboratory (GLPs) in regards of documentation, tests and maintenance, notebooks and data sheets, in a precise manner.
- Initiation and participation during Laboratory Research of non-conformant laboratory tests results.
- Collects and prepares laboratory records for evaluation, following good practices of documentation.
- Methodology of problem resolution or instrumentation problems.
- Communicates affairs related to the company or business opportunities to his/her immediate supervisor.
- Ensures the compliance with company and local, State and Federal regulations; policies and procedures to respond in compliance with Safety, Health and Environment.
- Assists in other tasks that contribute to the organization and the proper performance of the laboratory.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
- For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties assigned as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor of Science is required.
Master's in science is preferable.
- 2 to 4 years of experience with Bachelor of Science and progressively performing advanced tasks to a level of Scientist 1.
- 0 to 3 years of experience with Master of Science.
- Possesses broad understanding of the English language and shows the ability for oral and written communication in that language.
- Ability to work independently and to perform tests under limited supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills of organization and communication.
- Must be capable of interacting properly with workmates and colleagues.
- Self-motivated.
- Profound knowledge of research fundamentals.
- MATCP or LACTP Certification preferably.
