Zendesk is seeking a Security Analyst with good communication skills to support the bridge between our customers and our internal Security, Sales, Legal, and Product teams. The realms of security and SaaS are fast-paced, necessitating an adaptable individual who can keep up with evolving security trends, technology, controls, and the expanding Zendesk product suite.
As a member of our team, you should be approachable and open to learning. A foundational understanding of information security concepts is essential, along with good written and oral communication skills. Your role will involve learning to convey complex ideas to a wide variety of audiences across multiple modes—written, oral, and potentially visual (through diagrams and whiteboards).
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist in managing customer risk assessments and completing security questionnaires.
- Develop a solid understanding of our knowledge base, Security Policies, SOC2, ISO 27001 controls, and public-facing documentation.
- Contribute to project-based deliverables and industry third-party risk assessments (CAIQ, SIG, VSA).
- Help to update the knowledge base and runbooks to ensure alignment with process or product updates.
- Support senior team members during customer meetings and sales engagements, learning to address platform security.
**Requirements**:
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a security or similar technical role, with knowledge or interest in multiple information security domains.
- Experience or interest in coordinating business initiatives that align with security technical strategies.
- Good communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and effectively to customers.
- Familiarity with or interest in SaaS multi-tenant and cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure, GCP).
- Any security certifications, such as Security+, GSEC, CCSK, are a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with at least one or more of the following frameworks: PCI-DSS, SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, GDPR etc.
