Security Engineering Manager, Threat Detection (English, Spanish) Apply

5 years of experience as a technical security professional.
2 years of experience managing a team of engineering or security operations professionals for an organization.
Experience with threat modeling.
Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, holidays, and shift-based schedules as required.
Fluency in English and Spanish to support client relationship management in this region.
Preferred qualifications:5 years of technical experience as an individual contributor security professional.
About the jobThe Detection team develops and maintains the signals, tools, and infrastructure to match sophisticated attackers. As part of this team, you will conduct and lead security analysis, threat hunting, malware, and indicator analysis. We are responsible for handling all malicious activity on Google's networks, performing deep analysis of threats in our enterprise, production, and cloud environments.
In this role, you will manage a team responsible for intrusion detection and incident response, grow and develop talent, and provide direction for the team, leading effectively.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, advocating for design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. We create central solutions, break down technical barriers, and strengthen existing systems, impacting important technical decisions across the company.
ResponsibilitiesManage a team responsible for intrusion detection and incident response.
Inspire, grow, and develop talent while providing and setting direction for the team, leading effectively through outcomes rather than tasks.
Collaborate with partner teams in Security and Engineering for large-scale response.
Help define and execute strategy for detecting malicious activity from evolving adversaries.
Conduct ongoing detailed data analysis, risk assessment, security incident analysis, and overall program outlook.
