Here you are supported, here you are celebrated, here you can thrive.Your New RoleWe are looking for a Senior Accountant to join the Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Content Accounting team. This team provides full-service accounting and reporting relating to HBO Original Programming, HBO Acquired Theatrical Programming, HBO Sports, and HBO Independent Pictures. The team is responsible for reviewing all P&L activity; preparing journal entries for production cash, hedge gain/loss, accruals, tax incentive receivables, prepaids, reclasses, amortization, intercompany and other ad hoc entries as needed; preparing monthly/quarterly P&L variance explanations by cost center; preparing balance sheetreconciliations and flux explanations; and preparing external reporting schedules (e.G. Inventory Rollforward, Commitments and Contingencies, and Derivative Instruments). This role will ensure all deliverables are completed timely, accurately, and will sign off on necessary close requirements. The role requires an understanding of forecasting, recurring expenses, and the ability to communicate both financial and non-financial information to finance and operational partners throughout the company, including Content Finance, Technical Accounting, Line of Business and Consolidated Financial Reporting.Your Role AccountabilitiesMaintain the general ledger, journal entry processing, account reconciliations, analysis and audit deliverables.Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.Participate in the execution of special projects and proactively develop accurate ad hoc analyses for management to make informed decisions.Ensure internal controls are in place and all transactions are recorded timely and accurately in accordance with GAAP and established SOX requirements and procedures.Build, foster, and maintain good working relationships with members of the Finance, Line of Business, and Operations.Contribute to quarterly content impairment review exercises.Qualifications & ExperiencesMinimum of 3 years of accounting experience required and a strong understanding of US GAAP, SOX requirements, and relevant local GAAP as required.Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university.Master's degree in accounting a plus.CPA license (or equivalent) attained or progress toward attainment
