We're looking for an exceptional Senior Accounting Manager to join our growing accounting team. As our Senior Accounting Manager, you'll be an important member of our accounting team, working closely with the leadership team and cross-functional teams to support growth and further build upon our internal accounting operations and policies.
**Scope of Responsibilities**:
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and policies for Newair.
- Support a seamless month-end close cycle implementing and overseeing a robust accounting close process.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
- Responsible for the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, and operating expenses, and insurance records of multiple entities/brands.
- Assures that internal financial reporting is done within prescribed timelines.
- Provides financial and analytical support to management
- Provides support to the VP of Finance/CFO and executive leadership in conjunction with the annual budgeting process.
- Ensures compliance with accounting and reporting related procedures.
- Ensures reasonableness and accuracy of financial statements to their knowledge of underlying facts.
- Other duties as assigned by VP of Finance/CFO and/or management to reach Company goals.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Oversee bank reconciliations, adjusting entries, general ledger & balance sheet reconciliations.
- Communicate and coordinate all reconciliation problems and resolutions with management team and Assistant Controller to assure timely resolution
- General administrative, back-office duties and knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
**You Have**:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant) preferred!
- Ten or more years of professional accounting experience as an accounting manager or Controller for a reputable organization
- Experience overseeing a team of 5 or more individuals.
- Strong people and leadership skills
- Wholesale distribution or Manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
- NetSuite ERP experience preferred! Or a suitable cloud-based ERP platform is a plus!
- Experience with Big-Box retailers highly preferred!
- Proficiency in Excel is required (advanced Excel skills: pivot table, vlookup, etc.)
- General knowledge of US GAAP, accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
