**Description**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead the development, installation, and run-off of a new press line.
- Lead the development, installation, and run-off of annealing equipment and process recipes.
- Develop operational processes and work instructions for operation and maintenance of a press line and annealing system.
- Lead the development of the APQP process to assure launch and production objectives are met.
- Provides cost estimates, capability estimates, and production recommendations for new products.
- Oversees capital acquisition projects by sending RFPs, obtaining quotes, and serving as a liaison between the plant and vendors. Provides advanced technical support for equipment.
- Develops concepts and designs new processes.
- Manages existing process improvement projects.
- Ensure all equipment and processes are safe and compliant with industry and local standards.
- Establish process parameter and procedural requirements creating checks to police conformance.
- Provides engineering support for existing manufacturing processes when needed.
- Provides qualifications for new/alternate vendors, components, and tooling.
- Validates process design via sampling procedures.
- Performs process cost analysis.
- Purchases major capital equipment and systems for both new processes implementation as well as current process maintenance.
- Participates in a cross-functional and cross-cultural team environment.
- Acts as a technical resource and a mentor for less experienced engineers.
- Promotes an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:
- Experience in design and development of new press lines and modifications to existing press lines.
- Experience operating and technically supporting stamping equipment and press lines.
- Hands on experience with die sign-off for construction and production/quality sign-off.
- 5+ years of experience in heat treatment of steel, preferably annealing motor laminations
- Experience in the development and launch of annealing processes and process improvements.
- Understands safety and environmental laws and regulations.
- Manages basic to large-level projects; demonstrates a track record of successful projects.
- Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Identifies the underlying principles, reasons, facts, or information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
- Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, the general public, and other employees of the organization.
- Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.
- Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Writes routine reports and correspondence.
- Utilizes common-sense in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Deals with problems involving several known variables in situations of routine nature.
- Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
- Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a moderate degree.
- Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
- Uses complex and noncomplex machines and equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (required).
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical controls
- Ability to manage all aspects of the design, installation, and runoff of press lines.
- Bilingual - Fluent in speaking and writing both Spanish and English
- Knowledge of ISO 9001
