Project description
As part of the Global Services department, this critical member of our technical staff must rapidly establish him or herself within Spirent as a multiple subject-matter expert, a mentor, a contributor, a learner, a listener and a team player. This position will be based in Mexico City, Mexico, and will report to the operation center.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and commission test probes at designated offices
Provide technical support for Ethernet and Mobile Services assurance products deployed in the end-customer's network via telephone, online networks, email and occasionally site visits based on software installation and upgrade issues.
Diagnose and troubleshoot system and customer reported issues related to system performance, functionality, or installation/upgrades across Spirent Lumos solution including network switch types Cisco and Nokia
Report design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs of solution to Spirent support team
Manage and track trial progress with Spirent's project manager and through internal systems
Position will require some travel and potentially on-site Customer support
Participate on cross functional teams to help validate software releases and installation prior to General Availability release.
Provide general support to users along with informal product education
Prepare and present project documentation as per agreements within the project plan. Documentation may include test plans, project status updates, and installation and configuration procedures, along with Method of Procedures (MOP) SKILLS
Must have
o Linux / Unix in a sysadmin level. Ability to troubleshoot / solve issues and manipulate files and directories, processes, memory, disk and verify and manipulate other resources and their capacities.
o Knowledge of the 4G/5G/VoLTE architecture is a must.
o Ability to use SQL to troubleshoot data queries.
o Must be experienced in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and debugging issues related to Ethernet and Mobile networking technologies around service activation turn-up and troubleshooting - active and passive.
o Ability to interpret ethernet testing results around RFC-2544, RFC6349, Y.1564, and TWAMP, and KPI's associated latency, loss, and jitter
o Strong team player with the ability to handle a fast-paced, dynamic environment handling multiple assignments and working maintenance hours with clients.
o Excellent communication and writing skills, including creating of Method of Procedures (MOP) as required Nice to have
o Cisco 907 and Nokia/ALU 7750 and 7705 switch experience preferred.
